Suspect, Jason Howard, sought in connection with murder of family



The Liberty County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the deaths of Mildred and Jewel Cleveland who lived at 6006 Highway 196 West, Hinesville, Ga. The Cleveland's were found to have been killed and their bodies buried in a shallow grave on their property in April 2004.

Warrrants charging their son, Jason M. Howard, with the murders were issued. Jason Howard fled the area and still remains at large. Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest him for the murder of his parents.

Jason Howard is described as a white male, who is now 37 years. He has brown hair and sometimes wears it long. He also wears a beard at times and uses prescription eyeglasses.

He tends to be a loner type person who shys away from people and is somewhat of a survivalist. He was never known to socialize and may tend to be uncomfortable in any type social setting.

He is known to be schizophrenic and may display violent tendencies. In the past, he was known to live among homeless facilities or on the street.

If anyone has any information to assist in locating Jason Howard, please contact the Liberty County Sheriff's Office or call any law enforcement agency to provide the information.

In August 2006, John Walsh and Americas Most Wanted aired an episode in which this murder was featured. Despite a large number of leads generated by the show, Howard still has not been located.
