The Liberty County Sheriff's Department includes a Detectives Office which currently consists of four Detectives and a Supervisor. The Detectives Office is overseen by the Chief Deputy, and is responsible for the investigation of all crimes committed within Liberty County except for the City of Hinesville. The Detectives assigned to the office conduct investigations of criminal offenses reported to the department. In addition to criminal investigations, the Detectives Office conducts background investigations on employees as well as background investigations for persons applying for alcohol licenses within Liberty County.

The Detectives assigned to the office are veteran law enforcement officers that are highly trained. The Detectives work on investigations assigned to them individually and work as a team and assist each other when necessary to solve each case as quickly as possible.

Liberty County Detectives Office is fortunate to have two of our members as graduates of the FBI National Academy. This provided the Department with highly trained personnel and allows for professional contacts throughout the United States whose experience and expertise can be called upon in the event it is needed to assist local law enforcement.
