Patrol

Patrol responsibilities within the department are broken down into separate units repsponsible for various functions. The Patrol Division consists of the road patrols responsible for daily law enforcement operations. The Deputies assigned to the patrol division work rotating shifts and are supervised by a Sergeant and a Lieutenant for each shift.

Additionally, a specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit exists to combat alcohol related offenses and assist in the investigation of vehicle accidents. Deputies assigned to these duties are supervised by a Captain and work various shifts depending on several factors including accident rates, alcohol related injuries reported, traffic density and reported violations by motorists.
